Protecting the Craft

What’s up Creatrixes and Creators,

I hope the new season is treating you well!

I’d just like to give you all a little taste of what I’ve been up to in the last week - it’s been a busy one!

Unfortunately, my daughter had to undergo an oral surgery so I wasn’t able to release a long form video this week or shorts last Friday, but I have been able to make some big updates to my website!

My latest focus has been the Wicked Herb Grimoire, and so far I’ve added about 21 new herbs to the list! It’s actually been a ton of fun to finally feel like I’m giving this website the content that it deserves. I’ve had all of this stuff in my mind for so long and it feels great to be able to let it out! As some of you may know, I make pins for the majority of my entries here, but in the last week I have discovered the wonderful uses of Tumblr! Of course, I’ve known about Tumblr for ages but never really felt I had a use for it, until now!

You can find my general blog here:

I’ve been adding all of the herb updates to their own blog, the Wicked Herb Grimoire, which you can find here:

.I’ve also been getting used to the site and I have shared a little bit of insight to my world there, particularly on how tired I am of protecting the Craft. I have no intentions of ever giving it up, but if I wasn’t fueled by divine energies I think I would be completely tapped out from all of the hate that I, my YouTube channel, and the Craft have been getting lately.

Here is an excerpt from that post:

Unfortunately, unjust persecution has a long history with craft practitioners, so this is my reminder to my fellow witches:

You are not evil.

The Craft is not evil.

Following your intuition and your divine connection does not make you evil,

it makes you a force to be reckoned with.

The church and the patriarchy still reign hard in this day and age and the leaders of it do not want you to harness your own power because it would make you impossible to control.

So if you’re working to spread the light and love, regardless of these opposing forces, I salute you and all that have fallen because of this pursuit. I know that those we have lost due to their beliefs stand strong beside me during my mission and I hope you know that they are with you too, and they are so damn proud of your bravery for practicing openly because it’s something that most of them could have never done.

If you’ve felt the call of the Craft and you’ve been strong enough to use your power to heal the world, you are doing the work of the Universe, and it is vital that you keep going, even in the face of oppression.

Cheers to those brave enough to do what’s right for them and what’s right for the collective consciousness. 🥂

I applaud those who were brave enough to learn the secrets of the Universe and use them to better your experience and the experience of those around you. 👏🏻

I know us witches face more hate than we deserve, but please know that I, as well as our empowered ancestors, are with you every step of the way. You are never alone when you are connected to the divine and you can thrive despite the negativity around you, I know that you can.

You have a power that they could only ever dream of and it is yours to wield how you please.

I felt it necessary to share this with as many practitioners as possible because I know how exhausting it can be to stand in defense of yourself and your beliefs almost constantly, but also because I think it’s important for us Witches to remember how far we’ve come. Ages ago I could have NEVER been able to have a website like this, and not just because the internet wasn’t invented yet, but because I would have been killed for my beliefs. I could have never run an open forum (YouTube channel) discussing witchcraft and law of attraction, nor could I have held an open circle, inviting witches in publicly to discuss their lives and practices. I wouldn’t have been able to wear my pentacle necklace proudly, let alone have the triple goddess tattooed on my back. I wouldn’t have been able to share my mantras and affirmations for fear of being linked back to the Craft.

I find it so inspiring to know how thrilled our ancestors must be to know that we can practice openly now, and that’s a large part of why what I do is so important to me. I speak for the witches who had their tongues cut from their mouths. I speak for those who were drowned and burned. I speak because they killed women, not just witches. I also speak for the men who were persecuted for their beliefs as well. The patriarchal church mostly went after women, but it’s important to remember that many men lost their lives for their practices as well.

I plan to do a separate post on why “The Wicked Witch of the Web” was chosen for my brand name, but I’d like to tell you that I’ve been struggling with that decision lately. When it came to me it was all about opening minds, taking what people had preconceived as bad and reshaping those beliefs. It was a homage to those who had fallen because one group of people believed that witches were evil for their earthly practices, and it was a nod to the Church who will think that I myself am evil no matter how good the work I’m doing is. But lately I’ve been thinking that perhaps it drives too many people away before they can see how positive, uplifting, and helpful my content is.

However, after deliberating over this for weeks now, I have decided to stay true to my original brand, and therefore my original mission. It may be more of an uphill battle for me to get my channel the attention I feel it deserves, but I think it will pave way for the right community; a community of open-minded, high vibrational beings who choose to think for themselves rather than to allow the rest of the world to tell them how things are. I think that’s worth any bit of struggle I might face, and I feel blessed going forward with this mission. I know that I have the potential to do a lot of good with my content and those who don’t want to see that have their own paths to lead that have nothing to do with me, and I have decided that the best way to use my power right now is to be okay with that.

In truth, that is the powerful work of the law of attraction. That is to say, I probably wouldn’t be experiencing so much resistance if I hadn't spent so much time fighting myself. I was the one who put that energy into the Universe first, and the Universe did nothing but reaffirm it, as the Universe always has done and always will do. This can be a hard concept for some to understand, and in truth, even when you’ve studied these practices for years you can still get so wrapped up in your humanity that you don’t realize what you’re doing to yourself, but this is why leading a mindful life is so important. You have to be aware of the choices you’re making, and you have to be brave enough to take accountability for them in order to truly work with the Universe. This is a principle I believe the church lost when they started stealing their practices from pagans, and I think that has played a huge part in why we see so many mindless people refusing to take responsibility for themselves. If they believe they can do whatever they want and repent for automatic forgiveness, where is the encouragement to change? Where is the need to stand in your own power and work with the Universe? The fact that so many seem to think being in control of your own life is a crime against God in itself leads me further into believing that it was indeed all part of a grand design, and not the divine’s, just more greedy humans abusing the system for their own gain.

In my personal opinion, I don’t think there’s anything wrong in believing in God, no matter which God that might be, but rather I think the issues stem from organized religion - it’s just too easy to brainwash people, especially when you add in all of the fear-mongering. This is why I think it is so important to share all of the information that I can while reminding you all that putting it into practice is so incredibly flexible. Witchcraft is entirely DIY, and you can live, play, and work without the threat of eternal damnation. In the Craft, we are ever-changing. The mistakes we make in this life will be reckoned with in the next, but you will be given yet another chance to make positive choices.

I have always found it so comical that the church tries SO HARD to tell people that Witchcraft is a commitment to the Devil because there is no Devil in the true craft. It’s not about laying down with demons to attain power, no. It is about achieving power through respecting your place in the Universe, and generating power through your relationship with it.

And there I go defending the Craft yet again because these oppressive systems still ring through my mind and soul after lifetimes of dealing with them. I honestly almost can’t help it at this point. Magick has done so much for me and my life, and the beautiful souls I have crossed paths with that it does hurt me to see it attacked so frequently. But, I’m here to tell you that if you deal with similar issues remember this one thing:

Magick ignores the non-believers just like the non-believers ignore magick.

Not everyone is powerful enough to walk this path, and not everyone is meant to. True dedication to the Craft requires you to be strong of mind and pure of heart, that is why so many who turn to it for a quick-fix fail almost immediately. But if you’re here it is important that you stay focused on your own path. Do the sacred work, uplift those around you, fend off oppression and just keep being your beautiful self. It is truly the only way that we can win against a controlling world.

Stay blessed, my friends.
